JAN Z. ROSE
Jan Rose is Vice President of Government Affairs of McDermott, Quilty & Miller LLP. She specializes in government strategies and advocacy at the state level. With over 25 years of advocacy experience, Jan’s primary focus is governmental relations and regulatory issues for clients in the health care, life sciences and biotech industries. Jan has a deep understanding of the complexities of the political process and applies that expertise to develop and implement strategies designed to accomplish her clients’ goals.
Prior to joining MQM, Jan was Vice President of Legislative Affairs of ML Strategies LLC. During her 20-year tenure with ML Strategies, Jan successfully advocated for a wide variety of clients. Among her successes were designing the strategy and successfully leading the effort to require health plans to cover and reimburse routine care for patient in cancer related clinical trials. She also successfully secured funding for numerous programs and clients, including state funding for the recruitment and retention of home health workers. In addition, she developed and delivered a seminar entitled “Government Affairs and the Massachusetts Legislative Process.”
Jan’s experience also includes serving as the Assistant Commissioner for Consumer Affairs and Licensing for the City of Boston, where she was the principal liaison to the Legislature, community groups and City Hall. Jan also spent several years at the law firm of Palmer & Dodge.
Jan currently serves on the Leadership Council of The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare, the Massachusetts Children’s Alliance, and the M. Patricia Cronin Foundation to Fight Ovarian Cancer. She is a member of the Government Affairs Committee of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. She remains politically active, advising candidates about campaign strategy and regularly participating in campaign events. She is a recipient of the M. Patricia Cronin Spirit Award for Activism in Public Policy from Jane Doe, Inc. in recognition of her many years and successes advocating on their behalf.
Jan received a B.A. from Drew University and a Master of Public Administration from Suffolk University.
